Lifting of concrete slabs and soil compaction at Vao Agro silo storage
IN BRIEF
Over the years, acidic silage effluent had caused leaks in concrete gutters of the silo and silage effluent seeped from the silo to soil, eroding the soil beneath concrete slabs and polluting adjacent field. Silo had already been repaired two or three times, but to no avail, and the company eventually contacted URETEK team.
TECHNOLOGY USED
URETEK technology was used to first fill the voids and restore the load-bearing capacity of soil. Then geopolymer was injected behind the gutters to stop the leaks.
RESULT
This work took 4 hours, whereas in case of using traditional method, cutting out concrete slab would have increased the cost of work three times. In terms of time, such a job would have taken approximately 2—3 weeks.
